<aside> 💡 Gatsby’s seating chart functionality is a great way to help you organize your seating for any event whether it is a sit down dinner or conference in which you need to plan out rows of seats.

Adding/Arranging Tables

  1. Navigate to the seating chart tab within your event
  2. Click the Add Table button
    1. Name the table (can be a number or a name)
    2. Select the shape of your table (Rectangle or circle)
    3. Choose your seat numbering direction (clockwise vs counterclockwise)
    4. Set the number of seats per side
      1. Set their distribution by selecting the drop down arrow
    5. Hit the Add Table button
  3. To duplicate a table
    1. Double right click on the table
    2. Select Duplicate Table
  4. Click and drag a table to move it around your layout
  5. To delete a table
    1. Double right click on the table

    2. Select Delete Table

Assigning Guests

  1. Navigate to the seating chart tab within your event

  2. Your guest list will appear on the right hand side of the screen, to assign them to a table you have three options

    1. Drag and drop each name to a seat
    2. Select multiple guest using the check box
      1. Click the Move Guests option from the green menu
      2. Select the table you would like to add them to
    3. Double click on a seat itself and a + will appear, click it
      1. Search or select your guest from the list

  3. To move guests, double click them then drag and drop to their desired spot

  4. To unseat a guest, double click their seat, click Unseat

  5. To unseat a full table,

    1. Double right click on the table, click Unseat Guests
    2. Select guests from the list on the right hand side, select Unseat Guests from the green menu

Other Settings

  1. Adding Text (this can be helpful for placing a stage, dictating direction of the room, etc)

    1. Select the drop down arrow next to the Add Tables button

    2. Select Add Text

  2. Show Profile Pictures on seats

    1. Click the cog wheel in the bottom left corner

    2. Toggle Show Profile Pictures on Seats to on

  3. Lock Tables (this will allow you to restrict the ability to add new tables and add/change seats)

    1. Click the cog wheel in the bottom left corner

    2. Toggle Lock Tables to on

    3. This will also allow you to enable the ability to see the guests full name as you hover over their seat
